BMW's 7-series has always gone head-to-to head with Jaguar's XJ and Mercedes-Benz' S-class models and as with its rivals, BMW offered a V12 engine at the top of the range. This third-generation model – the second to have a V12 – is presented in very good order throughout, its metallic green paint and bodywork, along with the glass and trim being in vendor-assessed excellent condition. The more than generously-appointed interior is also reported to be in excellent order, bar the headlining which shows sagging at the rear. Our vendor says the engine, transmission and running gear are excellent, as is the electrical system.
It’s might have started off as a clever marketing ploy but there is no getting away from just what a phenomenon the hot hatchback became. Very much associated with the 1980s and 1990s hot hatchbacks are still with us, but those earlier cars didn’t need a host of electronics to do the job. Many today look back on those earlier cars with reverence, and in the hot hatchback pantheon the Lancia Delta Integrale is at the top of many enthusiasts’ ‘must-own’ lists. If you’re looking for one, MPH’s next sale includes a two-owners 1995 Delta Integrale Evo II in unusual, eye-catching Lagos Blue with cream interior. It’s said to be running and driving well and has a £35,000-40,000 estimate.
If the Bentley Continental GT just wasn't fast enough buyers could opt for the SuperSport, to which they could add numerous options to create a truly personalised car. This 2010 example comes to the auction with vendor-described very good bodywork, paint (optional extra cost matt grey) and trim, while the wheels/tyres are said to be good. The interior remains excellent throughout and features just two carbon bucket seats, the rear seat being deleted when ordered. Also equipped with the best Hifi system in motoring, full Bentley NAIM sound system. The engine is rated as excellent for starting, running and for presentation and the running gear (including gearbox, suspension and brakes) is said to be excellent, as is the electrical system.
This Series 1 comes to auction having recently received a nut-and-bolt restoration which, the vendor notes, included a galvanised chassis and bulkhead. Built in October 1952 it was bought by Somerset council in December that year and sent to Brigade Headquarter at Taunton Fire Station. The bodywork and red paint, as well as glass and wheels/tyres (new), are said to be in excellent order. New red seats complement an interior the vendor says is excellent throughout. The engine is said to be very good for starting, running and for presentation and the running gear is vendor-assessed as very good. This Land Rover has a good history file including documentation from Somerset Heritage Archives and Taunton Fire Brigade, as well as a memory stick with some restoration photographs.
Serving in Bristol from May 1931 for 35 years this Lioness was fitted with a Braidwood body, twin water deliveries each side and an Ajax extension ladder. It passed through several hands before going into preservation, being bought by David Berry, who carried out the restoration. In his tenure it appeared at 30 Royal Tournaments and won its class in the 1996/1997/1998 HCVS London to Brighton Run and was runner-up in the 1998 Concours d'Elegance. The bodywork and paint are reported to be excellent and it is said to be running perfectly.
